Professional Channel Manager

Job Summary
The Professional Channel Manager focuses on developing the business potential of myopia control market as well as provides support on professional service to HK operation. He / She is responsible for all commercial activities, including planning and execution of all sales / marketing / professional activities to drive the MiSight business.
The role reports directly to the National Sales Manager and dotted line reporting to the Vice-President Marketing APAC.
 
Essential Functions
  • Identify the business potential and define the strategic plan in both professional service and MiSight to drive the business.
  • Achieves commercial operational objectives by contributing professional, marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; implementing change.
  • Meets company financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Determines annual plans by forecasting and developing annual sales target for Hong Kong; projecting expected sales volume for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
  • Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans.
  • Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
  • Positively influence the prescribing habits of ECP, promote engagement with CooperVision brands and the contact lens category amongst eye practitioners and retail staff, working with Key Account Managers to develop and execute key account activity and elevate CooperVision image and profile throughout the optical industry.
  • Provides expertise on customer/ECP requirements to the wider business to help develop strategy and tactics to drive sales.
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Contribute to, direct, and execute business and marketing communications plans for brands with eye care professional customers, key influencers, and local/regional professional associations to help drive top line and market share growth, while ensuring compliance with corporate, industry and regional regulations.
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Be responsible for getting claims approved through the Marketing, Clinical, Legal and Regulatory process.
  • Provide guidance to local and regional brand and marketing teams regarding ECP integration of technical and clinical aspects of product portfolio.
  • Participate in regional sales and marketing leadership team.
  • Monitor and report on industry competitive activities, clinical science, and regulatory landscape in contact lens-related indications.
  • Plan and implement budgets related to assigned functions and projects.
  • Manage agencies and vendors (e.g. contract negotiations and project deliverables).
  • Ensure Professional Services organization has an understanding of and ability to manage government affairs.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to take clinical analysis data/reports, clinical research to provide insights pre and post PS strategy and initiatives.
  • Ability to read and understand highly technical material.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations specific to the medical device industry.
  • Good financial understanding – particularly profit and loss, ROI models.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time, from planning to timely execution, from managing resources and budget within set project limitations, from leading a team of members and agencies, reporting project milestones, deliverables and results.
  • Excellent English communication skills, fluency in Mandarin would be advantageous.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, both internally and externally.
  • Be a highly effective team player, either playing the role of a leader or a team member, focused on team output and team success rather than individual personal achievements and credit. Has good initiative, is well-organized and has good ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Education & Experience
  • Degree in Optometry with commercial business course taken is an advantage. Registered optometrist with clinical background preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Optometric field or optical industry
  • Experience in optical retail as a qualified optometrist would be an advantage.
  • Have worked with complex product portfolios, breadth and depth of SKUs.
  • Have handled product life cycle management processes that include new product development, adoption/growth/matured product stages, cannibalization and rationalisation within own product portfolios.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions. Exposure to working in a matrix environment.
  • Outgoing and pleasant personality.
