The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19 AY, twelve programmes are included in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. The appointee shall report to the Dean and support the Dean in developing and implementing strategies and plans for the Faculty, providing strong academic leadership in Building Information Modelling (BIM) development, taking part in teaching and supervising students’ work, maintaining close contacts with industry, commerce, professional bodies and other educational institutions, and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking and collaboration with industry.
Applicants should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Civil Engineering or related discipline with extensive experience and leadership in civil and building engineering work, construction project management, and BIM application. He/She should possess high professional standing with demonstrated achievements in professional practice, and/or research and scholarly activities, and rich experience in BIM modelling and formulating BIM training for engineers, project management, and good networking with industry and professional bodies. Professional qualifications and/or memberships in Engineering related professional bodies are preferable.
(1) Candidates may be appointed on short term or part-time employment.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
