Program Manager (Based out of Dongguan, China)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team to manage NPI program, resolving impediments whether in design, material, or process to successfully reach mass production within the required schedule
  • Provide the front-end interface to customer on project progress and issues while coordinating with internal team on the back-end to execute on the individual project tasks
  • Develop project plan, based on customer as well as internal 4M requirements, that provide a clear and concise picture on the relevant tasks, their timing, dependencies and output, against which all project activities can be managed
  • Obtain all necessary technical information from customer and/or group’s design office as appropriate and clarify details on model’s design and requirements up front
  • Enforce strict adherence to the NPI requirements of the relevant Quality Management System (customer-specific, TS16949, ISO13485, or factory-default) of the associated project within the project plan
  • Identify critical path elements in the plan and develop risk mitigation plans early on to minimize unnecessary delays on project schedule
  • Track all actions items, whether internal team activities or customer prerequisites, as they arise over the course of the project and manage their prompt and proper completion against the overall project plan
  • Coordinate with Account team to address with customer commercial issues pertinent to project execution 
  • Coordinate with customer’s technical team or Group’s design office as appropriate to help resolve design or process issues that result in quality concerns prior to start of mass production
  • Conduct gate reviews at relevant project milestones and ensure all the requirements at each gate are properly fulfilled and deliverables completed before project can proceed from one phase to the next
  • Diligently assess project progress at all times so as to escalate critical problems that cannot be readily resolved within the CFT to Operations and customer management promptly to seek for additional support without undue delays
  • Manage non-trivial ECO implementation as mini-NPI projects to ensure Operation team conducts proper evaluation prior to introduction of change, whether customer-directed or internally initiated, into mass production
  • Support Account Manager and Quote team to assist in assessment and understanding of technical details in RFQ packages from customer for improved quote response preparation
  • Support Account Manager to drive value-added technical enhancements projects for customer

     

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related subjects
  • Minimum 10 years technical work experience with 3 or more years working in Program Management capacity
  • Solid experience in project management, with prior experience launching New Production Introductions
  • Have good understanding of PPAP, TS16949 and quality engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership skill, especially in identifying, tackling and preventing problem matters,
  • Mature and diplomatic to work with cross-functional and cross-cultural team environment
  • Have good organizational skills with familiarity with standard Project Management Tools, and be document-/process-driven
  • Good presentation and communication skills; good command of spoken and written English
  • Position is based in Dongguan, China full time
