Department of Accountancy

The Department of Accountancy (http://www.LN.edu.hk/acct/) offers an undergraduate accounting major as well as a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree programme.

The appointee will be responsible for (1) managing the administration of the MAcc programme; (2) teaching both MAcc and undergraduate courses; and (3) performing any other assignments as appropriate.  Research is encouraged but the primary responsibilities are programme administration and teaching.
 

Requirements: (i) a Master’s degree in accounting with CPA qualification; (ii) high-quality teaching in various subjects including financial accounting, management and cost accounting, China accounting and taxation, and advanced taxation; (iii) some programme administration experience preferably in tertiary education sector; and project management experience in private industry is also considered; (iv) good networking with the accounting profession for promotion of the programme and student placement; (v) excellent communication skills including good command of Putonghua; and (vi) prior knowledge about the Mainland’s education sector is a plus.  Applicants should meet the requirements of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) on faculty qualifications and engagement.  The appointee is required to travel to the Mainland and overseas countries for student recruitment.  Overall, the appointee is expected to have strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department, the University, and the accounting profession.

 

Salary and Benefits

Commencing salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, housing benefits, incoming passage and baggage allowance, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
