Established by the Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has five academic units, namely the School of Arts & Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration, School of Education & Languages, School of Science & Technology, and the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education. Through them, we provide full-time and part-time programmes at undergraduate, post-graduate, and sub-degree levels.

Programmer (Ref. 16-P-361-C)

The appointee will be required to develop web and mobile applications for teaching and learning. He/she is also responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems. In addition, he/she will assist the Online Learning Environment’s daily operations which include the setting up of courses, creating user accounts, handling technical support hotline and uploading course contents.

Applicants should have a recognized bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, preferably with post-qualification experience in programming and web systems design. Solid experience in web application development with PHP, JSP/Servlet and EJB, and knowledge of markup languages and scripting languages such as Javascript, JSON is a must. Applicants should have hands-on experience in mobile application development using Appcelerator Titanium and Objective-C. Experience in Lotus Domino, Unity and Drupal will be an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a trade test.

Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract.  Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance coverage and gratuity, where applicable.
