TWC is going to launch an eTeaching project which will assist and support our staff to develop their own techniques in e-teaching.  An Education Technologist, pegged to the post of Project Manager, is urgently needed.

Duties

The appointee will be required but not limited to:

  1. develop a framework of eLearning and eTeaching with emphases on the adaptation of the latest education technologies at College;
  2. design an appropriate assessment tool, based on the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standard for Educators, for a college-wide assessment on eTeaching competency;
  3. supervise the Project Officer/ Assistant to conduct a college-wide assessment on the eTeaching competency at the commencement and the end of the project period;
  4. design the contents of the intervention programme for empowering teachers in the adaptation of advanced education technologies for course delivery;
  5. develop a method to assess the original status of eLearning contents in the specific courses nominated by the participating teachers;
  6. supervise the Project Officer/ Assistant in conducting assessments on the eLearning contents of the nominated courses at the commencement and the end of each course;
  7. supervise the Project Officer/ Assistant to develop a training plan and training materials to be applied to participating teachers on the individual level;
  8. supervise the implementation of training provided to teachers by the Project Officer/ Assistant;
  9. supervise the Project Officer/ Assistant in documenting the changes that have been implemented to each course for the compilation into a repository of cases as examples for other teachers at College;
  10. write the progress and final reports to be submitted to the Education Bureau (EDB);
  11. involve in the production of a documentary on the Open Sharing Forum; and
  12. perform other relevant duties requested by the Vice President (Academic)

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  1. a Master degree, preferably a PhD degree, or an equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline;
  2. at least eight years of substantial relevant experience in the area of Education Technologies in the tertiary education sector;
  3. a proven track record of project management;
  4. strong leadership skill with the ability to supervise a small team;
  5. excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
  6. excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
