Project Planner/PMO Engineer

Internal Plannings:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and reporting activities for the Bids &Project. Immediate alert in case of issue.
  • Ensure that all the plannings are established, consolidated and followed on bids and projects with a sufficient level of information for daily follow-up by the project teams.
  • Facilitate the design, development and ownership of projects/workpackages plannings ensuring that all milestones and internal/external dependencies are identified, logged and monitored
  • Analyse and track the interfaces and dependencies between the projects/workpackages and recommend appropriate actions where anomalies exist or there are areas of concern.
  • Highlight all the areas of optimization on plannings, capitalize on best practises/lessons learned from one project to another.
  • Identify and report deviations and trigger alerts to Project Manager and PMO Manager when appropriate.
  • Provide estimating support to the projects/workpackages.
  • Define and manage time recording processes; use systems/tools to capture actual progress data.
  • Establish and operate mechanisms to track projects/workpackages delivery against the plan; update continuously the progress against the plan and produce KPIs.
  • Ensure that all schedules include time and resource estimates for the risk mitigation activities.
  • Integrate manpower constraints in the schedule for tracking, reporting and advising on resource conflicts. Anticipate on needs on ongoing and future projects.
  • Support training, up skilling of project teams on planification matters.

External Plannings and reporting:

  • Supervise the activities of reporting to the Customer on specific project(s).
  • Develop the Preliminary Master Programme under Primavera P6 at the start of the contract and follow-up on its approval process by the Customer.
  • Establish the relevant KPIs (S-curves) to track the overall progress on these projects on a monthly basis.
  • Supervise on the submission of monthly reports.
  • Coordinate closely with the Customer regarding all the aspects of external reporting.

ERP implementation:

  • Planning & Monitoring Data on the ERP system.


  • Degree in an Engineering or related discipline is preferred
  • Experienced on industrial projects (railway projects will be a plus)
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience or knowledge in Primavera P6 / MS Project / MS Office & SAP (any of these planning software tools will be a plus)
  • Strong knowledge in project planning & scheduling practices, calculation method, standard & procedure
  • Proactive, capacity to coach and support the project teams and establish processes
  • Good command in spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
