Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will be responsible to set up a comprehensive and robust quality system and implement that system with production factories throughout Asia.  Stand up a QA system, including production and quality standards, factory audit, ensure products meet all relevant regulatory and customer standards and implement a QC plan to ensure compliance.  Recruit and lead QA/QC team to ensure product quality, factory compliance and timeliness in a rapidly changing and entrepreneurial environment.


What You'll Do:
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured Quality System
  • Build and manage the Quality Assurance organization to provide supplier production quality inspections, defect disposition, and monitoring of all quality related isues to packaging, component parts, and finished products
  • Establish quality performance metrics and KPIs, report on quality activities on a regular basis to the Management team
  • In collaboration with company headquarters, develop and administer QA policies and processes to ensure defect detection at the factory
  • Oversee quality control teams to provide on-site quality control resources for production inspection and release at key China and Vietnam based suppliers
  • Implement QC plan to conduct final random inspection and random screen testing
  • Audit and qualify factory base to ensure compliance with ICTI, Disney FAMA, Walmart, etc. standards
  • Champion process improvements at factories to improve quality
  • Ensure compliance with all government and industry standards/codes for product and process quality
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Stay up to date with new quality tools and test strategies


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university/college or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years QA experience with focus in toys and soft lines (plush)
  • Proven success motivating and leading a team of individuals in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Social and environmental standards experience
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in US, European or global markets
  • Business level English, Chinese and Mandarin language
  • Experience with Disney FAMA, ICTI Wal-mart and other audit standards
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate with people at all levels, as well as strong skills as a negotiator to reach consensus, buy-in and commitment
  • Experience with an ERP/MRP systems a plus
  • Adept at creating tools and processes from scratch a plus
