Reception Class Kindergarten Assistant Job Outline - International Stream

A “RC" Kindergarten Assistant position is available from 31 August 2018 at our campus in Tseung Kwan O

Class level : Primary School, International Stream, Reception Class

Main Duties :

  • Contribute to the education, personal and social development of the children by providing support to the Class Teacher, as per the policies of the French International School and the direction of the Class Teacher.
  • Work with small groups of children, under the overall supervision of the class teacher
  • Supervise the children in the canteen and playground every day and assist after school in directing the children on to correct buses for trip home.
  • Priority will be given to persons with Teaching Assistant diploma or background.

Skills :

  • Well developed interpersonal skills;
  • Confidence and skills in the use of different types of computer and software;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory;
  • Enjoyment and flair in arts and crafts would be an advantage;
  • Understanding of the need for tact and confidentiality in work with young children.

Full-time position 28.5 hours weekly (with occasional need for after-school preparation for specific events)

Position enjoys all school holidays less 2 weeks in summer
