Purpose:

  • Develop, execute, and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans that support the company’s financial, product, and brand objectives.

Responsibilities:

Drive & Support Merchandise Strategy

  • Create pre-season financial plans and on-going forecasts
  • Develop, manage and forecast the Open to Buy (OTB)
  • Articulate Plans & OTB with merchants teams monthly & seasonally
  • Develop and manage OTB targets with Merchants for sales, inventory and markdowns
  • Identify sales opportunities through effective strategic planning and execution that achieve corporate financial goals
  • Develop and provide business analysis to influence future buys and assortment strategies
  • Provide analytical support to Merchants & ensure a balanced and profitable assortment that drives productivity and regular price sell through
  • Identify opportunities as well as potential risks to increase sales, margin and turn

Inventory Management

  • Reforecast OTB and replenishment forecasts monthly aligned with predetermined sales & inventory targets
  • Communicate performance to plans on all replenishment materials and develop chase / exit strategies according to trends
  • Analyze trends and seasonality, adjusting forecasts, receipts and inventory levels as needed to support plans
  • Partner with Merchants to continually manage the business through in-season analysis (assist in identifying re-orders)
  • Partner with Merchants to strategize timing of consolidations and markdowns
  • Review seasonal buys with buyers; reviews should focus on quantities by location and ensuring buys are within agreed budgets
  • Communicate monthly with VP Planning & Global Planning regarding inventory positions and tracking to plans and OTB

Team Management

  • Work effectively as a member of a cross- functional department team (Merchandising, Planning, & Allocation) by focusing on team objectives and communicating clearly
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Merchants and Allocators
  • Effectively partner w/ Merchant team on business and reactions to trends and OTB budgets
  • Align and communicate regional strategies with country teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree / Master’s Degree
  • Strong Planning and Forecasting Skills
  • Decision making capability clearly driven by developing strategic product and business initiatives
  • High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • SAP a plus
  • Creative, assertive and solution- oriented when faced with difficult business performance and/or challenging directives
  • Influence, present and defend a business argument both one-on- one and in a group setting
  • Excellent time management
  • Analytically sharp and strong command of retail metrics and logic
  • Dynamic communication skills with cross functional peers (ability to support , influence, & have strong point of view)
  • Comfortable with team based atmosphere (overcome obstacles as a team, deliver results to customers)
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Team Player, peer influencer, sharp focus on self-development
