About the Role

We are seeking a Regional Reporting Manager who will support multiple tasks across the Regional A&R team, covering both P&C and L&H reinsurance business. This will include coordination of the close process, analysis of results, reporting to senior management and running operational improvement projects. The successful candidate will interact with a variety of other teams, including Client Markets, Underwriting and Actuarial Management.

  • Coordinate the technical close, substantiation and analytics process for P&C and L&H business across Asia
  • Consolidate the quarterly results presentations for US GAAP and EVM and present to management and the Reinsurance Business Unit CFO
  • Manage the monthly US GAAP forecasting process for Asia, ensuring that material updates are gathered from various teams and appropriately factored into ongoing estimate updates
  • Consolidate and prepare board and committee presentation materials
  • Support build-up of the Reporting & Analysis Hub in Bangalore
  • Critically assess the recurring reporting processes and deliverables and propose areas for improvement and optimisation
  • Coordinate cross-functional responses to emerging issues, quickly responding to strategic topics and system and process changes
  • Develop a complete understanding of data flow, system landscapes and system interactions impacting reporting under relevant valuations and provide insight that helps to ensure a smooth flow of information through the reporting life cycle

About the Team

You would join the Asia Regional Accounting & Reporting (A&R) team and work closely with other finance teams across the APAC region and in other global locations. The Asia Regional A&R team is part of Finance Reinsurance under the Asia Regional CFO. We are responsible for delivering high-quality analysis and reporting of the Reinsurance business generated in Asia, as well as maintaining a stable and reliable technical closing process. The team is spread across multiple locations, making the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams a key requirement for this role.

About You

  • University degree (Accounting, Finance or Business preferred) and advanced degree or relevant professional qualifications in the field of Accounting or Finance
  • Eight or more years of appropriate work experience, ideally in a finance or accounting role. Experience of both life and non-life re/insurance is a significant advantage
  • Project management or process improvement expertise
  • Expertise in reporting under multiple accounting frameworks preferred (particularly US GAAP and economic valuation frameworks)
  • Strong communication skills, in both written and verbal form; able to explain complex issues in a clear and concise fashion and to develop effective working relationships with a broad range of partners
  • Demonstrated experience of working in, or with, teams spread across multiple countries would be advantageous
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; advanced data management capabilities an advantage
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing expectations and demands from management regarding content, format and timing of presentation of financial information
  • Fluency in English; other languages an advantage
