We are a group of people with fundamental physics background doing research in the field of acoustic metamaterials. Low frequency sound attenuation and wave absorption is one of the major topics.
The appointee should have experience in embedded system design to implement the following signal processing tasks:
(1) An analog to digital interface to digitize an electrical time series with >100kS/s sampling rate.
(2) Fast processing of the resulting digitized data with common DSP algorithms.
(3) A digital to analog interface to convert the digitally processed results into four electrical time series as outputs, with independent signal amplification functionality.
The appointee is expected to work collaboratively with others to realize a large-scale acoustics project in which the high speed signal ADC (>100kS/s sampling rate), DAC with 16-bit resolution or higher, and a faster central processing core that can perform general DSP algorithm like FFT, FIR or IIR filtering, etc. with ms-scale or lower latency in the audio frequency range below 1500Hz, are embedded as one SoC which couples to the front end electrical sensor and back end four-channel electrical outputs. As many such SoC units are needed for the project, cost per unit should be a consideration.
Applicants should have a master’s or higher degree in electronics related disciplines, with experiences in embedded system design. Candidates with experience of real product manufacturing in the industry is preferred. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
