Research Engineer

Responsibilities:

• To develop a novel optical detector for a diagnostic system including, Engineering design, drawing, components assemble and module testing, etc;
• To perform workshop operation to make prototype;
• To communicate with the vendors;
• To carry out verification, testing protocols in the prototypes;
• To prepare related technical document, conducts analysis of engineering design; 
• To troubleshoot, conduct root causes analysis and problem-solving process.

Requirements:

• Ph.D / MPhil. In Electronic / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering / Biochemistry or equivalent; 
• At least 2 years post-qualification experience;
• Practical and hand-on skills in workshops or laboratory is required;
• Skill in electronic (circuitry, firmware development and/or mechanical design/drawing)
• Knowledge of optical fiber / microfluidics is a plus;
• Good team player, with ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Fast learner, attention to details, passionate to cutting edge technologies;
• Good command in spoken and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
