Risk Management Manager (Hong Kong & South Korea)

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Identify strategic, credit, financial, operational and reinsurance risks to which Coface is exposed in the short and long term with a consistent approach to the overall business strategy and develop/implement precautions and revise current guidelines
  • Support Coface Group Risk Management in the 2nd Line of Defense in the Asia Pacific Region (APR) in Hong Kong and South Korea
  • Risk mapping/assessment -Define, categorize and identify from all sources the risks by type/category (e.g. business sector, business activity and of the company), associated major components (economic, financial and regulatory) and controls in place. Define the approved risk tolerance limits for each type/category of risk. Develop the consolidated risk cartographies to be communicated to the governance bodies, related Committees and Head of functions. Risk management - Carry out second level controls on policies, procedures, systems and processes within established frequency
  • Make oral and written presentations to communicate results, findings and where required, an Action Plan. Follow up the implementation of recommendations within the established timeframe.
    Produce reports on completion of actions plans. Identify corrective actions if not worked throughout the period under review and document agreed-upon remedial measures. Notify management on breaches where required

  • Monitoring & Reporting - Monitor Level I controls (L1C). Review and update the risk mappings on regular basis from description of the risk to controls and actions currently in place, and key risk indicators. Stay current with Coface developments, industry and regulatory changes to assist in the early identification of emerging risk issues. Maintain an active reporting line on key risk information to governance bodies, related Committees and Head of functions

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines
  • 4+ years’ solid experience in Big 4, external/internal audit or internal control, preferably in insurance and/or financial institutions
  • Previous exposures in insurance and financial institutions are preferred
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese a must; proficiency in Putonghua a plus
  • Ability to analyze, raise and articulate issues from risk and internal control anomalies
  • Knowledge of general insurance accounting is highly preferable
  • Manage Information systems to support financial reports
  • Proficiency in computer management tools: spreadsheets, databases, ERP
  • Full familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced functions in Excel (LOOKUP; Conditions )/ PowerPoint
