Sales Representative

Maersk Hong Kong is now looking for a strong Sales Representative to manage mainly Europe focused forwarders. Reporting to Sales Team Leader PRS Efficiency & Super Saver, Europe Team, the Sales Representative will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships, delivering business and sales targets, focusing on growth in target areas.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage assigned customers and budget base; pursue and secure business in line with the corporate strategy.
  • Develop customer value propositions for all appropriate business opportunities. Strive for consultative sales to distinguish market presence by effectively probing and identifying needs and suggesting solutions to help customers.
  • Build a good understanding of target customers and the assigned account base (contact, commodities, trade lanes, type of business, contract information, etc. including exceptions and service requirements) with planning and executing calls and meetings.
  • Establish internal network in South China and globally to facilitate resolution of customer issues.
  • Build understanding of all service offerings to be able to offer integrated solutions.
  • Communicate significant trends, rate changes and policies to assigned accounts.
  • Research and understand the territory to identify and establish business contacts with potential customers.
  • Research and analyse competitive and industry trends (e.g. analyse sales statistics, prepare reports, study literature regarding new and existing services and monitor sales, prices and services of competitors); recommend appropriate measures.
  • Ensure Customer Relationship Management tools (Salesforce.com and others) are updated on time and with high-quality data.

 

We are looking for

  • Proven experience and success in carrier or forwarder/logistics sales.
  • Solid exposure and knowledge of the South China business, trading, logistics and transportation market.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, independent, creative and resourceful.
  • Persuasive and positive, a can do, never say die attitude.
  • Proactive, driven, self-motivated and results orientated.
  • Excellent negotiation, sales and analytical skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
