SCAD Hong Kong seeks an Art Sales and Events Associate to accelerate the growth of the SCAD Art Sales initiative in Hong Kong, resulting in revenue and achieving public relations goals set by the university. You will be energetic, persuasive and well-organized with a demonstrated ability to sell fine art to high-end clients, corporations, hoteliers, stadiums, interior designers, television and film producers and potential customers. You will also work closely with the Hong Kong events team assisting in all SCAD Hong Kong events.
The ideal candidate will create and maintain an extensive strategic networking plan in order to secure sales outreach on all contacts and leads; collaborate with SCAD Art Sales team members at all SCAD locations to set strategy and implement specified sales plans for key areas of focus; and attend SCAD signature events, VIP receptions, tours or other pertinent art and sales events (such as Art Central, Art Basel) when requested in order to advance this initiative through networking and lead generation. You will also create strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior- and mid-management levels, working closely with SCAD Art Sales team members at each campus location for cross-territory opportunities.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other internal SCAD teams such as Marketing and Public Relations, Institutional Effectiveness, Giving, Alumni Services, and staff, deans and professors to generate leads, close sales and increase the awareness of SCAD; create and maintain an appropriate travel schedule within Hong Kong and Asian markets in order to complete sales outreach on all researched contacts and leads; stay current on the fine art world and its competitive landscape; be responsible for effective communication of SCAD’s valuable art resources to current partnerships and prospective clients; drive this initiative through sales forecasting, a high volume of sales calls, strategy and superior customer service; and learn to use software such as Salesforce in order to share information, maintain a master calendar, schedule meetings, record sales, plan outreach to leads and follow up, reporting and analytics.
– B.A. or B.F.A. in marketing, management or an art-related field
– Minimum two years’ work experience in a gallery or museum
– Minimum of five years of proven sales experience
– Familiarity with SCAD
– Must be willing and able to travel as required
– Excellent time-management and organizational skills
– Leadership skills to provide vision, motivation and guidance
