Secondary School Technician – Arts and Music (Ref:SEC/TECH/20181123_cto)

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in setting up before class and organize student equipment after lessons
  • Draw up and maintain inventory of equipment; maintain resources and keep record of stocks, and to liaise with teachers for ordering needs
  • Check students’ timetables and liaise with class teachers for the day’s lessons and needs
  • Arrange regular safety inspections of machinery and equipment
  • Ensure students’ work and unused materials are returned to appropriate storage area, and ensure each teaching area is locked and secured when not in use
  • Maintain a record of the department’s risk assessments
  • Re-organisation and storage of new equipment and materials for the following academic year
  • Meet with Secondary School Principal / Head of Arts to plan ahead on project needs
  • Assist Secondary school events and activities, back up other Secondary Technicians if required

Successful applicant will also be responsible in the following administrative and technical support:

Administrative Support:

  • Production documentation related to auditions / rehearsal
  • Rehearsal logistics/support in rehearsals
  • Room bookings
  • Stage management related admin
  • Usher training/management
  • Ticketing system admin
  • Poster distribution
  • Program Distribution

Technical Support:

  • Costume sourcing/making project managing
  • Prop sourcing/making/project managing
  • Set sourcing/making project managing
  • Animation/projection/media management (if required for production)
  • To procure and support videography of production (in conjunction with Louisa)
  • Mic planning
  • Stage Management
  • Lighting design and fixing


  • Diploma/higher diploma or above awarded by a professional institute
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience preferably in education environment
  • Sound working knowledge of art and music equipment and their storage needs
  • Art-based training would be an added advantage
  • Be IT literate and competent in using google drive / calendar 
  • Able to meet tight deadline, well organized and independent
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin
