  • Work independently to keep abreast of development of HKFRS/IFRS/CAS and perform research over IASB/IFRIC’s decision or key publications from accounting firms
  • Perform necessary control procedures to safeguard the bookkeeping being complied with IFRS (e.g. review of business model and SPPI tests prepared by business units, pre-approval of material transactions)
  • Assess the accounting treatments and perform due diligence on banking products and services (e.g. loans, trade finance, treasury products, fee-income business) and transactions (e.g. M&A, PPE, IP, leases)
  • Prepare analytical reports and lead in ad hoc projects to support management's decision in strategic planning and departmental operation (e.g. scenario analysis for group restructuring, implementation of new IFRS or accounting systems, valuation of private equities)
  • Support internal users by setting practical accounting rules, including drafting principle-based policies, designing journal entries for different accounting events and commenting on related system requirement
  • Serve as an expert of accounting standard and liaise with external auditors, frontline, risk as appropriate


  • Bachelor degree or above with CPA qualification
  • At least 6 years' practical experience in a Big Four or recognized reputable financial institution
  • Solid knowledge in IFRS/HKFRS; knowledge in CAS and ASEAN GAAP would be a plus
  • Knowledge in banking industry with hands on experience in accounting for financial products; exposure to life insurance business is advantageous
  • Excellent in financial analysis, strong analytical and presentation skills, capable of integrating financial and management information with business acumen and deliver values with innovation
  • Proactive, independent and able to work under pressure with tight time schedule
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Chinese word processing
  • Willing to travel to SEA countries occasionally, if necessary
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Manager
