INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES OFFICE
The appointees will be a member of the Administrative Application Services Section, which is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting the University’s central administrative systems including staff, student and finance-related systems. The appointees will be required to:
(a) analyse user requirements, perform system design, development, testing, implementation and related system support tasks;
(b) prepare related system documentation; and
(c) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his/her delegates.
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;
(b) at least five years’ post-degree working experience in applications development, with hands-on experience in the development and support of systems in the business areas concerned;
(c) substantial experience in developing and implementing web applications using Java language on Java EE platform, WebSphere, Oracle RDBMS12c, SQL Server, and preferably with knowledge of Spring, jQuery, Richfaces, JSF, EJB 3, and EclipseLink (JPA);
(d) hands-on experience in implementing and supporting critical and heavy loading web- based applications; experience in mobile application development is an added advantage;
(e) strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills;
(f) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(g) the ability to work under pressure and be proactive.
Candidates with less experience will also be considered.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
