Senior Business Manager - Retail Banking and Wealth Management

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Business Manager.

In this role, you will

  • Support with coordination, agreement and implementation of strategic plans for Retail Banking and Wealth Management, includes rolling operation plans, cost saving targets and the implement Strategy
  • Assist on monitoring financial performance by analysing and managing costs, overseeing orderbook spend, understanding and challenging recharges as applicable, and initiating corrective actions to minimise impact of cost variances
  • Work in partnership with Retail Banking and Wealth Management stakeholders to define timely, relevant and cost efficient end to end technology and operations solutions required to meet the needs of Retail Banking and Wealth Management
  • Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards. Foster a compliance culture and abide by the Group Compliance Policy
  • Proactively drive Retail Banking and Wealth Management strategy and objectives with partner functions including HOST, Finance and Risk
  • Partner with Finance to manage the total cost base including setting, monitoring and managing streamlining initiatives to achieve cost saves

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • University degree holder with relevant work experience
  • Excellent understanding of the Retail Banking and Wealth Management business
  • Good sense of judgment along with lateral and strategic thinking capacity
  • Motivated, self-starter, ability to work independently and project plan
  • Leadership, influencing, negotiation and decision making skills
  • Consistent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exhibit strong work ethic, set high standards of excellence and understand what it takes to deliver a best-in-class event
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,  business fluent in written and spoken English, fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin preferred
  • Ability to identify interdependencies across a wide range of initiatives
  • Sound relationship management skill, with the ability to gain consensus and agreement between teams, department and geographically diverse country teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
