We are looking for a highly-driven and motivated Senior Category Manager/ Category Manager to join our fun, professional and dedicated pandamart Department based here in Hong Kong. Our pandamart team strives to change the Hong Kong consumers groceries purchase behaviour from traditional retail / standard e-commerce to no-queue, 15 mins delivery, 24x7 always available. As our merchandising specialist, you will be the key player in expanding our product range. Being the listener of our customers’ needs, our merchandising team aims to bring the customers’ favourite products to the platform while offering attractive product value and promotions.

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Full P&L responsibility for the category, subcategory, including revenue, margin, wastage & other supplier income.
• Must develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to expand both sales and margin
• Ensure pandamart has the widest selection and best prices in the market through international sourcing, recruiting marketplace sellers and leveraging competitive intelligence.
• Work with existing vendor base to negotiate cost, funding and terms improvement, secure supplier marketing and advertising spend, develop new incentive programs, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfillment centre.
• Work to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-round.
• Employ data-driven decision making to drive the category. Provide insight to the head of merchandising and work closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply
• Partner with the Operations & Supply Chain team to manage inventory levels and wastage.
• Contribute to pandamart growth by optimising and streamlining Category management. Help to design systems and processes to minimise time spent on day-to-day tasks and allow more time for strategic thinking.
• Work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Pricing, Strategy, Finance, and Marketing to deliver strategic projects allowing pandamart to offer the best customer experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant.
• 4+ years' relevant work experience, preferably in FMCG, retail, account and category management.
• Fresh food or chill & frozen category merchandising experience would be an advantage
• Demonstrated track record of successful negotiations, influence and overall relationship management (both internal and external).
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability and desire to contribute to wider team performance and culture.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Great communication skills (both oral and written) are a must.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, fast learner of new tools
