Senior Collector - Wealth & Personal Banking

HSBC Wealth Management leads the Asia-Pacific implementation of our global strategy to deliver world-class solutions to retail and private clients seeking to grow, protect, preserve or transfer their wealth. This involves the development and management of needs-based solutions covering foreign exchange, deposit, investment, insurance and financing products, as well as the provision of suitable market insights and updates, financial planning and advisory services.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Collector.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to customers with financial difficulties through direct customer contact by telephone & face to face & email, etc

  • Conduct telephone conversation using the Customer Engagement Model to understand the customer’s “Reason for Default” then evaluate, discuss and negotiate treatments to help customer repay their debts

  • Arrange meetings with customers to discuss and agree debt restructuring proposals where HSBC debts exceed certain agreed amount

  • Ensure customers are fully informed of all the pros and cons of undergoing debt restructuring

  • Where appropriate offer and explain Inter-bank Debt Relief Plan’s that will help customer restructure all their outstanding debts not just HSBC’s

  • Prepare debt restructuring proposals in accordance to prevailing policies for submission to Manager for approval

  • Where necessary arrange for signing of all debt restructuring documents and confirm customer’s understanding and agreement

  • Perform all internal administrative tasks to close existing accounts and open new General Restructure Facilities

  • Fully utilize the Computer Assisted Collection System, the respective banking and credit card host systems for recording and reviewing account details

  • Achieve agreed productivity and performance targets


  • Solid years of working experience in banking or relevant years in Collection

  • Able to communication with customers confidently over the phone and face to face, would benefit from having worked in financial services industry with direct customer contact

  • Possess good analytical and problem solving skills

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently to meet deadlines and achieve targets

  • Good command of Cantonese and English, proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage
