We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Development Manager.


Principal responsibilities

  • Lead a team for the development and deployment of IT solutions to support corporate internet banking services in Hong Kong
  • Provide strategic advice and consultancy service to business and IT management to enable business growth and delivery of excellent IT service
  • Work with and support business to implement Group and bank strategy
  • Identify and engage all key stakeholders, contributors and business and technical resources that must participate in the assigned projects and ensure that contributors are committed to complete assigned tasks within the parameters of the project plan
  • Participate in the management of the relationship between the business and the IT Project team, managing business expectations and negotiating compromise where appropriate
  • Prioritize and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee testing processes and acceptance signoff
  • Plan IT budget for application related activities and seek ways to reduce application related costs
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures and standards to ensure effective risk management, quality control and compliance are in place
  • Coach application development managers and officers on their job related responsibilities; conduct performance reviews, appraisals and personal development planning
  • Provide on-going support and maintenance for production systems and system enhancement to support strategic business growth and development



  • University degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Information System or related disciplines
  • Minimum 15 years working experience in development and support of banking applications; hands on application design / development experience in Java, API, cloud platform, Linux, Android and iOS
  • Application development experiences in corporate internet banking and experience in managing/implementing large scale banking application will be an added advantage.
  • Solid experience on automated testing, BDD/TDD, CI pipeline setup
  • Solid experience in managing an application team with 25+ members. Cross-country development team management an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Internet Banking and public website preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Agile project development and management framework
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, communication skills and quality orientation
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, Putonghua speaking is an advantage
  • Great sense of ownership, quality oriented and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes

(Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Development Manager.)
