Managing case teams in takeovers and mergers transactions and playing a leading role in formulating policy for the regulation and development of an effective capital market in Hong Kong.

Reporting to Executive Director – Corporate Finance, the Senior Director will head and work closely with senior executives of the Takeovers Team in Corporate Finance Division. The Senior Director will administer The Codes on Takeovers and Mergers and Share Buy-backs including supervising case teams, analysing, monitoring, regulating and investigating corporate activities of entities regulated by the Codes. You will also take a leading role to (a) develop policy matters with regard to takeovers and mergers in Hong Kong; (b) present submissions to the Takeovers Panel; and (c) conduct disciplinary proceedings in cases of Codes breaches.

An ideal candidate should possess a university degree with professional qualifications in law or accounting, plus excellent knowledge of the Hong Kong and overseas takeovers and mergers regulatory regimes. You should have substantial experience in practicing corporate finance with a specialty in takeovers and mergers in Hong Kong and possess an in-depth knowledge of the operation and regulation of the securities and futures markets. On top of a strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity, you should also be strong in policy work with outstanding leadership as well as excellent conceptual, analytical, interpersonal, written and presentation skills. Knowledge of Chinese is an advantage but not essential.
