‘The iHub’ (Innovative Technology Enhanced Learning in the Performing Arts) is a newly established department at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a remit to enhance the quality of performing arts education programmes delivery through adopting innovative, student centered, educational methodologies and integration of emerging technologies. This department will support staff and students to make use of information and communications technology effectively in education and to develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies. It aims to establish the Academy as a leader in the development, support and implementation of innovative Performing Arts Education Technology Practices in the Asia Pacific Regions.
Applications are invited for the position of Senior Educational Designer / Project Manager under the EXPAND team of the iHub:
EXPAND TEAM – Multimedia Design and Production Team of the iHub is responsible for eLearning media development, (print, web, video, animation), support for eLearning media delivery, audio-visual equipment support, Learning Management System resource development.
(HK$56,755 - HK$80,905 per month)
The Senior Educational Designer / Project Manager is accountable to the Head of iHub and will provide educational design support and project management support to the iHub’s various eLearning Projects. This is a senior position and whilst sitting within the EXPAND Team requires liaison and work across all areas of the iHUB with a solid understanding of pedagogically driven large-scale eLearning initiatives. Duties include primarily the support of pedagogically driven initiatives and the provision of pedagogical advice for the Academy’s academic staff. This position will also offer some support to the Head of the iHub with project management processes and reporting and also manages the production work of the EXPAND Team. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in the support of Learning Management Systems, MOOCs and / or Video use in Learning and Teaching). This role may also be asked to contribute to other tasks as delegated by the Head of iHub as and when required.
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognized degree from a tertiary institution;
(b) extensive experience in managing and contributing to large scale eLearning pedagogically driven projects; (with
experience in MOOCs, Learning Management Systems and Video / AV resources in Learning and Teaching
being an advantage);
(c) strong oral and written skills in English, (proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua an advantage);
(d) extensive experience in the project management of pedagogically driven eLearning initiatives and the ability to
transfer these skills into the creation of the iHub’s various processes and work;
(e) an extensive understanding of current trends in technology enhanced learning;
(f) high level organizational, presentation, team and communication skills.
NOTE – Applicants with less experience may be offered the position of Educational Designer / Project Manager.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be made on a two-year contract. Further appointment will depend on provision of funding at the prevailing time. A gratuity payment will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
