Senior Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities :

• Design & Develop embedded Linux applications / kernel drivers for new WiFi products or enhancements, updates for existing products
• Research & Develop solutions to tackle wireless performance or connectivity issues
• Conduct feasibility study on emerging technologies and solutions
• Evaluate features / systems in the open source domain
• Linux kernel drivers porting & debugging
• Work closely with technical support team to resolve customer issues

Required qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or combination EE and CS
• 3+ years solid experience in Linux kernel driver development
• 3+ years solid experience in C language programming
• Strong working knowledge of git, gdb/kdb, disassembly, kernel oops/panics debugging
• Good understanding of the Linux Kernel internals
• Good understanding of CPU multitasking concepts: task switching, deadlocks, interrupts and resource management
• Good understanding of Wireless networking, TCP/IP protocols and applications
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and ownership
• Responsible and can work independently

Bonus Points if you are:

• Familiar with more than one type of WiFi chipsets driver development
• Familiar with OpenWRT / Python programming / Robot framework
• Familiar with Omnipeek / Wireshark / IxChariot testing tools
• Good understanding of 802.11 related protocols
• Good understanding of test automation system
• Have experience on BSP/uboot development
