Senior Global Sourcing Manager (Vice President)

Our client Brilliant Standard Ltd is looking for Senior Global Sourcing Manager (Vice President).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to optimize and protect the supply chain, deliver the best value (savings and cash) and to ensure quality, sustainability and responsible sourcing requirements are met. 
  • Conduct commercial negotiations to ensure agreement between commercial/sales and supplier/customer and/or internal clients in order to reach a mutually acceptable outcome. 
  • Negotiate cost with suppliers/ vendors for multiple product categories to provide the best value proposition for the company. 
  • Conduct evaluation qualification of new suppliers and factories that support current and future production requirements. 
  • Evaluate current supplier/vendor/factory core competencies and costing performance; manage initial quotation process with new supplier, develop production placement strategy and product lifecycle planning/ resourcing. 
  • Manage and measure suppliers’ performance and capacity by issuing annual vendor’s scorecard report and make recommendation for potential sourcing needs for continuous quality and cost improvement (highest cost efficiency). 
  • Ensure supplier network is aligned with corporate’s sourcing initiatives and business goals. 
  • Build market intelligence to identify sourcing opportunities. 
  • Provide up-to-date market trend information on costing (includes key commodity materials), labor wages, raw material constraints, and responsible sourcing standards to control FOB cost. 
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Merchandising Activities

Supervise and lead the merchandising operations, including T&A follow ups
Follow production plans and WIPs to ensure all orders are shipped on time

 

 

Vendor management

* Analyse, evaluate and improve vendor's capabilities and performance
* Source and develop products with vendors
* Expand or consolidate vendor base when appropriate
* Price negotiation and create detailed cost saving plans and methods
* Lead-time negotiation along with regular trouble shooting issues such as deliveries and quality issues

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with a proven track record in major retailer, brand or product development/sourcing company and expertise in consumer product global sourcing and production management, preferably with baby/ toddler product experience. 
  • University degree required. 
  • Possess with diverse global product sourcing and manufacturing/production expertise in Asia, Asian Sub-Continent and Mexico, India, expertise is a plus. 
  • Team-oriented and able to establish effective working relationships internally and externally. 

 

  •       Sound knowledge of Clothing, denims, domestic appliance
  •       Experience in Panama import and Export market
  •       Develop Panama, USA and Indian Market
  •       Self-motivated and meet expectations and can withstand high pressure
  •       Experience to lead a team to achieve task
  •       Excellent written and verbal Cantonese, Mandarin and English
    Willing to travel ; China and globally

 

  • Strong leadership, business knowledge and technical abilities. 
  • Strong skills in negotiation, strategic thinking and problem solving. 

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point).

Experience in utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is desirable.Strong knowledge in mens/ladies apparel - must have good knowledge in woven/knit/denim items


Minimum 8 years relevant sourcing experience from major retailer's sourcing offices with at least 5 years management experience
