Salary: HK$ 62,910 per month
Entry Requirements: Applicants should:
(a) have a Hong Kong degree in Architecture, Building/Estate Surveying, Urban Planning or Civil Engineering, or equivalent;
(b) have obtained a certificate in Built Heritage Conservation or Architectural Conservation, or equivalent;
(c) be a full Member of one of the following professional institutes, namely Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP), and Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE), and Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), or equivalent;
(d) meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (See Note 1) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
(e) have at least 2 years’ post-membership full-time working experience in relevant fields, including some working experience in built heritage conservation (See Note 2); and
(f) speak fluent Cantonese and English.
Note: 1) For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language respectively in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
2) Applicants should enclose with their applications portfolios (in A4 size) showing their working experience in built heritage conservation for qualification assessment. Applications not enclosed with the required portfolios may not be considered.
Duties: (a) To provide technical advice and assist in the implementation of various heritage conservation schemes, such as Heritage Impact Assessments, Revitalising Historic Buildings through Partnership Scheme, and Financial Assistance for Maintenance Scheme;
(b) To comment on the heritage implications of development and work proposals;
(c) To manage major restoration projects assigned and initiated by the Antiquities and Monuments Office; and
(d) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Terms of Appointment: Successful applicants will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms up to 31 March 2019.
