Principal Purpose of the position:

This position is responsible to deliver HR services and HR learning and development for WWF HK with some 140 full time and 80 part time staff , as well as oversees an active volunteer and intern programme. The role supports the HR working group led by CEO WWF and includes the Director, Corporate Affairs and Head of Operations and Events. The working group is overseen by the Board of Trustee, Finance Committee wHO provide advice and governance oversight.:

HR Budget, Policy and Planning

  • Lead the Organization’s staffing budget and development processes providing advice to CEO and SMT to plan manpower and build team culture , collaboration and capacity.
  • Monitor and manage payroll costs reporting to CEO and SMT
  • Responsible for compliance with employment, occupational safety and health legislation and regulations
  • Maintain and regularly review established human resources policies, systems and guidelines and have employees familiar with these and other organisational SOPs and build these into modules utilising DONE FYI learning and communications tool
  • Focal point in HK office to manage WWF International , hosting and consultant HR matters

HR Services

  • Manage HR services related to payroll compensation, eLeave and benefits,
  • Focal point in HK office to manage WWF International and hosting as well as consultants and all HR contract matters

HR Learning and development

  • Support to the CEO and SMT developing learning and development in WWF and delivering succession planning with a focus on developing level 5 managers
  • Provides HR interactive recruitment and onboarding with Bamboo HRIS
  • Provides for induction and team assignment within a supportive workplace culture, where people management promotes teamwork, excellence and recognition in the workplace.
  • Builds a culture where SMT and level 5 managers are open and support an inclusive team based workspace, which is safe, discrimination free and where respect for others and diversity are respected.
  • Conduct staff engagement activities, surveys and manage the annual staff review and awards to build workplace culture recognising people and teamwork are at the core of how to best deliver our conservation mission, supporter engagement and revenue diversification.
  • Monitor and manage team morale and motivation

Volunteers and Part time staff

  • Lead the team to support the internships programme, volunteers management and training of Eco-Guide part time staff.


  • Degree or Masters Degree holder in HRM or related discipline with 7-10 years’ experience in a managerial capacity with Regional or International HR experience.
  • Professional member of HKIHRM or other professional bodies
  • Excellent knowledge of employment ordinance and other HR related regulations in Hong Kong. Experience in regional recruitment is an added benefit.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and preferably Chinese.
  • Strong in organisational development and leadership team coaching with excellent budgeting skills
  • Proficiency in Computer skills, especially HRIS, Learning development and Excel

(Bamboo HRIS , Flex HR and payroll , DONE FYI , COVENE, MSOFFICE incl EXCEL)
