Senior IT Specialist


A United States-based manufacturer of accessories mostly related to mobile computing and looking for a Senior IT Specialist in Hong Kong.


  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs within the region.
  • Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
  • Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase in region in conjunction with corporate standards.
  • Work with Corporate IT in developing regional Desktop and Laptop images for deployment.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
  • Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to PC boxes, including the installation of CPUs, I/O and NIC cards, hard disks, ribbon cables, hard drives, RAM, memory chips, CD-ROMs, and so on.


  • Degree Holder of Computer Science or equivalent
  • Min. 5 years IT working experience.
  • Good knowledge in Windows Server 2008/2012, Hyper-V, Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
  • Knowledge of ShoreTel, Baan, Hyperion Essbase would be an added value
  • Microsoft certifications in Window Servers is a plus
  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Self motivated and directed.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
