Job description
Reporting to Head of IT, Senior Lead Product Manager leads the IT solution support on product implementation, operational initiatives with responsibilities over multiple work streams. This role develops strong partnerships to collaborate with business owners, business subject matter experts, technology partners and external partners, and is responsible for recommending, executing and implementing initiatives to meet business needs, in alignment with SL Singapore business strategy.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop knowledge and expertise of the technology applications that support the business. Perform research, analyze, design, build, support, deliver and/or test leading or service technology solutions of medium scale and medium-to-high complexity that are high-quality, innovate, efficient, creative, scalable, adaptable, dynamic fully performing and comply with all standards and best practices in support of business and client outcomes and objectives.
  • Act as product owner in agile framework; coordinate with IT support teams from different jurisdictions to ensure solutions and project outcomes are in alignment with business objectives, initiative targets are achieved on time, within scope, and escalate any challenges, risks, issues to management and recommend solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with user experience, product marketing, business/ IT partners and others to ensure successful release and adoption of features/ capabilities. This includes also defining initial scope or minimal viable product for area of responsibility.
  • Prioritize features/ capabilities and work cross functionally with product/ service managers to ensure appropriate prioritization and development.
  • Perform required activities (documentation, training, presentations, wikis, knowledgebases, etc) to ensure successful launch, marketing, adoption of features/ capabilities
Requirements
  • Degree in Business, Management Information System or Computer Science with at least 8 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in Business Information Technology project.
  • Familiarity with applications support/ help desk environment and good in client service orientation
  • Superior business knowledge and experience in analyzing various life insurance operational business process, the applications/ systems, interfaces and workflow supporting these processes.
  • Experience in leading the effort to capture the business case, drive, and elicit the business requirements, and create conceptual prototypes and mock ups.
  • Experience with entire life cycle process handling high net worth business, in order to serve as the first line to analyze, document and problem solve a number of business processes.
  • Have considerable knowledge of various life insurance products (fixed and indexed products, whole life, universal life)
  • This role requires investigative mindset, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to manage issues and needs of different functional areas and supporting teams from other Sun Life locations
