a) A good Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognised university in Hong Kong or a university in a common law jurisdiction;
b) Solicitor or barrister admitted to practice in Hong Kong; and
c) A minimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience of which 2 years are in a senior position in an organisation of a size comparable to that of the PCPD.
a) A Level 2 result in the Use of English paper and a Level 2 result in the Use of Chinese paper in the Common Recruitment Examination, or preferably Grade “B" or above in Use of English in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), or a minimum overall band score of 7.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with the Writing Subtest score not lower than 7; good command of written and spoken Chinese, preferably Grade “B" or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE, or equivalent;
b) A broadly based practising experiences, including that of advising on the carrying out of statutory functions and exercising of statutory powers in the course of investigations and/or prosecution by a regulatory authority;
c) Proficiency in advocacy will be an advantage;
d) Proven capability in providing legal advice in respect of legislative and regulatory review/ reform;
e) A strong analytical ability to make independent judgement with a high level of acumen in social, technological, political issues, and international data protection privacy landscape;
f) Positive, diligent and self-motivated with good inter-personal skills; and
g) Excellent presentational skills in both, written and oral, English and Chinese (Putonghua included).
The successful candidate will be rewarded with commensurate remuneration package with monthly salary ranging from $112,250 to $129,325. He or she will be appointed on contract terms. The terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment. In addition to 5-day week, we provide 21 days annual leave, medical and dental benefits, contribution to MPF and 15% gratuity at the end of contract, subject to employment terms and conditions.
