Senior Manager – Settlement Department

Madison pearl is currently partnering with a key strategic partner, who are in search of a Senior Manager, managing a team of 6 within the Settlement team.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage overall daily settlement operations and take on a backup role to cover and support team members to ensure effective business continuity
  • As an subject matter expert (SME), coach team members for performance and also act as the process owner for new business change initiatives (new market/product/trade enablement) and strategic change initiatives (market and system changes)
  • Review the current operational and risk control processes, and offer improvement suggestions to avoid operational incidents
  • Teach and delegate a full set of equities, futures & options, Listed Derivatives Contract operations to the team members
  • Compliant to internal policies and regulatory requirements including client monies and securities processes
  • Maintain good relationship with relevant internal & external counterparties for our smooth operations


Key requirements:

  • University degree holder in any disciplines
  • Over 10 years of settlement operational experience in securities or brokerage firms, custodians or asset management companies (prior experience in overseas equities settlement is preferable)
  • Knowledge of the full settlement cycle of capital markets products
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Cantonese
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge and experience in operating GLOSS system, CCASS terminal, SWIFT Alliance, etc.
  • Prior project management experience such as new products (or new systems) introduction is highly appreciated
  • Attention to detail, accurate, punctual and customer-oriented
  • Self-motivated, responsible, independent, proactive and tenacious
  • Good interpersonal skill and capable of being a good team leader (supervisor)
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic organization with multi-tasking capability
  • Embrace challenges and changes for enhancement in all aspects
