Senior Manager, Digital Operations (Asia Pacific)


Our client, a European multinational conglomerate, is a diversified industrial group which develops technologies and solutions for current and future market and customer needs. To cope with the continuous growth of their business, their Asia Pacific regional office is now seeking for a seasoned digital transformation professional to be part of their team.

Based in Hong Kong and report directly to Vice President, GPI & Global Head of Data Governance & Business Analytics, the candidate will be responsible for implementing and enhancing the digital solutions integrating various digital components and information assets across the ecosystem such as field operation business systems and IoT solutions (MAXc) for the Field operations. Prioritization based on use case to achieve business outcomes of the digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the digital operation roadmap and ensure its integration with the business unit’s and functional planning process based on use cases and business outcomes.
  • Provide a single point of coordination and oversight for digital projects within Asia Pacific.
  • Partner with the functions and operating units to develop and monetize and exploit digital business solutions to create a competitive edge.
  • Ensure the enterprise is developing the digital assets and capabilities that will be needed to survive and thrive in the midterm and long term.
  • Act as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain digital capabilities.
  • Define and reports on digital business KPIs and metrics that represent progress against digital goals.
  • Act as a thought leader on emerging digital business models and technologies, articulating the digital future and the enterprise's role in it internally and externally.
  • Lead and coordinate digitalization projects for Field operations in the region and promote the application of digital solutions such as MAX across different locations

Key Deliverables:

  • Act as main point of contact or interface for the digitalization projects both internally and externally. Liaise and coordinate with internal functions such as NI, PLM, R&D, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Communications, etc. as required.
  • Promote and monitor the utilization of VIEW system across all AP countries and ensure proper behavior/data being captured into the system.
  • Offer operational, technical and administrative support for Field operations in the application of digital operations.
  • Manage customer engagements and special projects.


  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent. Bachelor's degree minimum; M.B.A. and/or finance skills preferred
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, with regional exposure in respective area and in a matrix environment preferred
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and applying data visualization techniques/tools, preferable with experience in data science/analytics and/or ‘big data’ related projects
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Power BI, etc. with relevant experience in managing digital solution development projects
  • Experience in utilizing various business systems and KPIs to drive operational excellence
  • Good knowledge in process documentation with strong data sense and project management skills to support the implementation of process harmonization initiatives in close collaboration with relevant business and functional units and key stakeholders
  • Strong communication and social skills paired with a solution-oriented approach; effective in managing potential conflicts
  • Advanced skills related to analytical and conceptual thinking with specific focus on process and structure
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative work relationships both internally and externally
  • Effective in building trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Ability to effectively drive people, process and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment
  • Oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists High level of engagement, agility, creativity and reliability
  • Willingness to travel – regional and international.
