This is a Hong Kong application management role. The role is to manage a team of internal subordinates and external IT Solution Providers to perform day-to-day solution delivery activities, and be accountable for the solution estimation, quality and efficiency of all HK systems. This role is also accountable for the interface between HK systems and Regional systems, and ensures the successful launch of Regional systems for HK.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external IT Solution Providers to provide application solution estimation for all system development work
  • Encapsulate technical details of the solution, translate and communicate them as benefits and risks to allow business to evaluate solutions in business perspective
  • Accountable for delivering application solution to meet agreed baseline estimate
  • Ensure application solution meet AXA's policies, standards and quality requirement
  • Support Project Managers in managing scope, schedule, and cost throughout the project delivery life cycle across multiple medium to large scale IT projects
  • Manage technical issues and mitigate technical risks
  • Manage maintenance work transition from Solution Providers to the Production Support team
  • Communicate confirmed scope and schedule change of IT projects with Solution Providers
  • Approve software migration package prepared by Solution Providers
  • Coordinate with Release Management for production migration and promotion

    • University degree in Computer Science or related fields
    • A minimum of 10 years experience in IT solution delivery, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role, managing a team of subordinates to deliver IT solutions. Preferably in insurance & financial services field
    • Experience in managing external vendors to deliver applications that meet company defined quality standards
    • Strong solution delivery management skills and experience, and a proven track record of implementing multiple medium to large-scale systems in parallel
    • Solid experience in leading solution delivery through Agile/hybrid/waterfall, onshore, offshore/nearshore development center
    • Less expereince may be considered as Solution delivery manager / tech lead
    • Experience in wide range of technical landscape and latest technologies ie. of Azure cloud, mulesoft API and data lake etc
    • Experience in enterprise mobile and web application development, external facing solutions and partner integration (chatbot, wechat, FPS, etc)
    • Strong inter-personal and presentation skills
    • Excellent verbal and written English communication
    • Fluent in Cantonese
    • Fluent in Mandarin is an added advantage
