Senior Manager, Financial Reporting (BAU)

Job Summary

  • Support to build the best integrated reporting function for the Group by driving the enhancements in systems, processes and people.
  • Execute and roll out management agreed/approved plans.
  • Provide supports, guidance and technical advice on accounting and reporting matters to other Group functions and business units.
  • Provide insightful analyses to support management’s decision making.
  • Ensure accountability of deliverables performed by Group Financial Solution. Deliver financial reports on a timely manner and conformed to AIA Group policies and standards.
  • Business partner of business units from a financial reporting and technical perspective.
  • Support stakeholder management through delivering value propositions to relevant internal and external stakeholders and support business and financial performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review deliverables for financial statements and EV reports and management reports with insightful analyses.
  • Monitor Group consolidated and business units’ financial performance and provide analytical review on the consolidated financial results and the financial results of business units.
  • Conduct financial health check calls with the responsible business units, and produce relevant analyses.
  • Prepare quality finance and actuarial deliverables and work with various Group functions for the results announcement and assist in the overall results announcement end to end process.
  • Provide support, guidance and technical advice to Group functions and business units for accounting and reporting matters, accounting changes as well as Group initiatives.
  • Support Audit Committees and Boards of AIA Group and intermediate holding company.
  • Produce financial information and analyses to Regional Chief Executive Offices.
  • Support and work with Financial Management and Planning team on IFRS related matters, covering actual, budget and forecast numbers.
  • Support design, roll out and communication of new/revised accounting policies or/and practices as well as accounting or/and reporting for new transactions.
  • Regular review of process owned and challenge the status quo.


  • Degree/Master holder in finance / accounting / actuarial science or other business disciplines
  • Qualified Actuary / Accountant with regional exposure in a multinational environment
  • Min 10 years strong proven experience in financial reporting functions
  • Wide exposure in life insurance industry
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written) with strong leadership to manage a small team
  • Ability to support multi stakeholder information needs
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Act as team leader to give guidance and clear direction to team
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in IFRS, HKICO, Embedded Value reporting a plus
