Senior Manager, Investment Data and Systems Implementation

Job Description:

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer of International HuBS (Hong Kong, Bermuda, Singapore), this role is responsible for implementing the HK RBC asset data and system requirements for Hong Kong. The role is also taking a lead to maintain the asset data and systems (primarily Bloomberg and Aladdin) for Hong Kong, Bermuda and Singapore General Accounts portfolios. The role will also assist in the General Account reporting requirements. This position will form a conduit between the local business units and Regional Office / North American Offices.

1. HK RBC and HuBS (Hong Kong, Bermuda, Singapore) asset data and systems

Data

• The focus is on the implementation of HK RBC asset data solutions for:
  • Early adoption (from now until H1 2023); and
  • Long-term production preparation (H2 2023 until 2024)
  • Long-term production (2024 onwards when HK RBC goes live)
• Understand and interpret the HK RBC requirements relating to investment data areas (Pillars 1, 2 and 3) (eg, CIS requirements, make-whole spreads, credit ratings etc)
• Identify data availability, missing data for all asset classes including derivatives
• Work with other parties (eg, HK Finance, external consultants, SLC Management GA reporting team) and advise on solutions to close the gaps
• Assist in the implementation of asset data solutions
• Review and clarify data definition / dictionary
• Review for data correctness, accuracy, and completeness
• Carry out data extractions for independent checks
• Support ALM on HK RBC asset modelling
• Systems (Bloomberg AIM, Aladdin)
• Responsible for HuBS investment data and system flows, including reconciliations, upstream and downstream integration, and control points
• Maintain OMS and PMS environment in Bloomberg AIM for HuBS including but not limited to system integration, user access, account maintenance, broker setup, security master, pricing source, and pre-/post-trade compliance rules maintenance with compliance, etc
• Maintain data accuracy and completeness on Aladdin and Bloomberg AIM (eg, resolve missing data)
• Enhance usage of investment accounting system (PAM) and the integration with other upstream and downstream systems in order to streamline reporting process

2. HK RBC and HuBS GA reporting

• Assist in general GA reporting requirements
• Review and complete the investment sections in RBC reports, including ORSA templates
• Assist with asset data and reporting problems and issues
• Assist in HK RBC optimization work, and liase with Portfolio Management Team on execution and implementation
• Assist in performance measurement & attribution reports and portfolio analytics
• Assist the Portfolio Management Team to update internal reports to include RBC metrics or other information
• Work with the lead credit analyst on the process to seek IA approvals to use internal ratings. Assist to maintain the annual approval process to use internal ratings

3. Conduit with Regional Office and SLC Management

• Act as a key contact and conduit between Regional Office and SLC Management for matters in relation to HuBS data and systems
• Understand the SLC data and systems standards

4. Ad-hoc

• Provide support and assistance to the wider HuBS Investment Team as required

The requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree obtained from a recognizable university
• At least 7 years of related working experience in financial industry, with experience on data and systems
• Investment data requirements for HK RBC or equivalent standards (a plus would include LICAT, BSCR, SG RBC)
• Bloomberg AIM, Aladdin, PAM systems implementation (or any other OMS, PMS, Analytics and investment accounting systems)
• Understanding of portfolio performance calculation and attribution analysis
• Reporting experience
• Multi-asset class (public fixed income, private fixed income, mortgages, public equities, private equities, real estate, funds/CIS, derivatives)
• Insurance investment management or asset management experience
