Senior Manager, Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling Asia Pacific

Objectives of the Position

  • Reporting to the Head of Smart Supply Chain Management, the incumbent will act as a regional process owner for production planning and detailed scheduling (PPDS) in the Asia Pacific region
  • to drive the roll-outs and implementation of process changes and global or regional initiatives to local operations across Asia Pacific;
  • to ensure continuous harmonization and optimization of these processes with BASF’s Regional Business Units (RBUs), Asia Pacific companies and other related functional units.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and demonstrate technical and process expertise in the areas of PPDS, especially SAP APO PPDS, SAP R3 production planning and material requirements planning (MRP) functionality
  • Act as a regional expert in these fields and ensure adequate knowledge and skills transfer, as well as ongoing support and mentoring, are provided to end users and country process experts at both regional and local levels
  • Maintain a sound, broad understanding of the end-to-end process functionality of other planning functions (Demand Planning / Supply Network Planning / Sales & Operations Planning / Inventory Management)
  • Act as a primary Asia Pacific regional contact partner for global process owners in the field of PPDS
  • Support and manage process roll-outs and implementations driven by global, regional or local initiatives
  • Gather, analyze and evaluate production planning process change requests from RBUs, Sub-regional and regional Supply Chain (SC) Platforms, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and other BASF organizational units
  • Design and develop cross-functional business processes or process changes in line with supply chain strategy, business requirements and process standards
  • Identify relevant business process interfaces and dependencies with other processes and align those with the process owner expert of the specified expertise area or other BASF organizational units
  • Evaluate and define local, regional and cross-regional requirements for process support and communicate those to the relevant stakeholders including but not limited to Global Supply Chain and IT/IS, and validate implemented system changes from a user perspective
  • Provide required input or support for process change release planning, implementation, change management and training of production planning processes


  • Holder of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Engineering with a considerable economical background
  • At least 8 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics and project management
  • Experience in PPDS and implementation of MRP in SAP R3 would be an asset
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to simplify complex subjects to reach a wide variety of people
  • A team player with good Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain good work relationships with stakeholders for mutual benefits
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
