Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance, this new role is responsible for performing analysis on the Hong Kong Life and Health (L&H) financial drivers, driving strategic initiatives, and providing business insights to help our L&H leaders to achieve our strategic objectives.

Technical Actuarial knowledge especially on Canadian actuarial valuation basis, IFRS 17 and HKRBC
Strong problem-solving skills as required to help on complex and technical issues or initiatives
Strong analytical skill set
Good communication and negotiation skills
Qualifications
Degree in Actuarial Science or any related disciplines
Qualified actuary - FSA, FCIA, FIA , FIAA or equivalent is a PLUS
At least 7 years of working experience within life insurance industry; candidate with experience in Canadian actuarial valuation basis, IFRS 17 and HKRBC are added advantages
Technically solid with solid relevant experience in working on the key actuarial and financial metrics
Responsibilities
Perform analysis to understand the drivers of our financials (i.e. Sales & Gross VNBs, Expense Gap, Earnings and Solvency, etc.) and derive sharp business insights on the L&H performance.
Deep dive on the monthly & quarterly business results through understanding the connections between actual results and plan projections and analyzing industry market players. Contribute to the feedback loop between plan projections & actuals and business insights identified through market analysis and help leaders to understand the forward trends impacting the L&H business.
Perform analysis for Operating Plan and Strategic Plan processes, especially on the Earnings, RoE, Solvency & Capital together with the implication of IFRS 17 & HKRBC and provide business advice to influence the Company's strategy.
Collaborate across different business functions (including Distribution Channels, Actuarial, Product Pricing, Marketing, L&H Operations, HR and IT, etc), build & drive strategic initiatives and leverage such insights to drive our L&H business forward.
