After successfully completed transaction in Indonesia, China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited is looking to expand into other markets in South East Asia and potentially Europe. 

In order to match China Life’s regional expansion plans, our Strategic Planning Department is looking for outstanding strategy / corporate development professionals to join our team to execute the company’s inorganic growth strategy through M&A, JV partnerships and new market entry.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out cross-border M&A transaction

  1. Lead the M&A end-to-end process from sourcing, screening, execution, due diligence to post-deal integration
  2. Coordinate with external advisors (investment banks, legal and consulting firms) lead project due diligence across multi disciplines (Financial, Actuarial, Legal, operational, political etc.)
  3. Negotiate with third parties and review transaction documents (e.g. LOI, term sheets, SPA, SHA)
  4. Obtain approval from EXCO, Group Investment Committee, Board of Directors and any relevant regulators (China, Hong Kong and overseas)
  5. Manage RFP process relating to strategic projects
  6. Give formal presentations and updates to influence internal/external stakeholders
  7. Lead and supervise a team of 2-3 professional staff
  8. Occasion travelling is required (10%)

Corporate Finance / Investor Relations

  1. Review materials for credit rating agencies and potential third party investors 

Strategic Planning

  1. Support the annual strategic planning process across operating entities, JVs and market entries.
  2. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to support overseas operations



  1. Strong financial and analytical skills to support analysis of complex issues and related problem solving
  2. A change-oriented approach with a high degree of confidence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  3. Highly effective communication skills (oral, written and presentational)
  4. Strong business acumen, with an aptitude for strategic thinking
  5. People management, coaching and active listening skills
  6. Project Management skill, execute and take ownership of projects by effective management of timelines, deliverables and resources
  7. Effectively engage internal and external stakeholders of all levels.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or actuarial science desired; advanced degree a plus
  2. 8+ years of experience in financial services, consulting or audit (experience in M&A, direct investment, consultancy / corporate finance, equity research, ECM or Private Equity preferred)
  3. Insurance (Life or GI) experience is essential
  4. Professional qualifications in actuarial/accounting/investment will be a plus
  5. Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
  6. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
