Job Duties:

This position is responsible for creating and executing the annual category open-to-buy plans to achieve specific financial (Sales, Margin) and productivity (Inventory Turnover) metrics. The Budget is derived from Topline financials considering Store Planning, Retail and Assortment Objectives.

The candidate is also responsible for executing a monthly OTB Re-Forecast, to be presented to both Regional and HQ Management. (Focused on Sales, Gross Margin and Inventory Turnover by Category)

The incumbent will leverage outstanding analytical, qualitative and communication skills to execute forecasting, buying (investments), and overall inventory liquidity/productivity planning within the Furla Retail Business. This position will execute these functions with vast experience and forward strategic thinking.

 

  • Execute the annual planning process for product category performance, sales, inventory, receipt and margin goals for the Greater China Region – FULL PRICE & OUTLET CHANNELS (ALL STORES).
  • Execute the monthly re-forecasting “Open-To-Buy" process for product category performance, sales, inventory, receipt and margin goals for Greater China – FULL PRICE & OUTLET CHANNELS (ALL STORES).
  • Continuously analyze and reforecast business and recommend/ implement strategies to ensure plan is achieved, including adjusting product flow and inventory management on the responsible regions.
  • Initiate the OTB monthly meeting with HQ management.
  • To analyze end of season markdowns and propose markdown strategies based on inventory and sales analysis by location, ensuring cohesive flow from one season to the next.
  • Owner of the Seasonal Buying Process: Develop OTB Budget by Category for each Collection and based on the Merchandising Assortment Selection, define investments by sku, sharing overall Strategy with HQ Planning.
  • Provide hindsight Review of Category/SKU Performance on special event/ projects. Provide qualitative input and suggested action plan when necessary.
  • Maintain a healthy stock turn on the responsible business unit.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum 12 years of Retail Planning experience.
  • Mastery of Open-To-Buy Management, Markdown Management, Company profitability, and Buying experience, required.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications necessary. While Microstrategy/BI Reporting, TXT Planning Software, or JDA Allocation system experience is not a requirement, it will prioritize candidacy.
  • Management, Allocation, and any Planning/Allocation “Entrepreneurial Experience" – i.e. Initiating a Planning or Allocation function as part of work history, will prioritize candidacy.
  • Fluent in English – Written and Verbal – necessary to align with Global Merchandising/Planning Partners
  • Candidate with less experience may be considered as Merchandise Planning Manager
