Job Description

  • Participate in all research and development activities in relation to modification of existing products/processes, seasoning, product testing, raw materials testing/sourcing, taste testing, product development, packaging, labelling and technical research so as to improve existing products/processes continuously.
  • Assist in project pertaining to develop new product on noodle, soupbase, frozen food, snacks, condiment or modification of existing products in order to cope with corporate development.
  • To follow up projects and co-ordinate with internal/ external interfaces (i.e. Production Dept., QA Dept., Purchasing Dept., PMC Dept. and suppliers) throughout various R & D functions so as to reach optimum cooperation and generate new products. Work closely with internal interfaces in simulates, trial run and actual production to strive for process design and operation optimization.
  • Responsible to search and negotiate with different interfaces in determining suppliers / materials selection as per internal constraints, perform cost & quality analysis and suppliers’ plant audit to generate reports for superiors’ review.
  • Responsible for regular checking on food regulations of major markets, major concerns to ensure legal compliance and various standards (international, national and specific).
  • Keep updated of market trends and research for current market information, assist to bring in new insights/innovative ideas during the research & developing activities so as to achieve the ultimate goal of providing the best products in response to market needs.
  • Assist to carry out development programs and conduct experiments to improve and develop new/existing technique/processing methods/formulations so as to optimize the process flow involved.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Specification

  • Tertiary educated or above in Food Science or related subjects.
  • 3 years experience in Food industry, exposure in product R&D activities is preferred. Solid experience in soupbase, seasoning or sauce is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in ISO series, food safety and HACCP is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in major countries’ food regulations and hands-on experience in technical skills in food design & development.
  • Creative, well-organized, open-minded, energetic and result oriented.
  • Able to work under pressure and in a dynamic & fast paced environment.
  • Good command in using MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  • Good command in both written & spoken English and Cantonese. Mandarin is a plus.
  • Occasional business trip is required when necessary.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Officer.
