Senior Project Manager

Currie & Brown (China) Limited

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a senior project manger for our office in Hong Kong.
The successful candidate will contribute to project management assignments for Currie & Brown's clients, including managing client relationships, delivering high-quality services and assisting with financial management. This role requires someone who is decisive, confident, process-driven and technically competent to lead the Hong Kong project management team.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Working autonomously and as part of a team to deliver project tasks
  • Planning and delivering construction projects from concept to completion
  • Preparing or assisting in the preparation of site assessments, due diligence reports, cost reports, project control group report, construction reports and completion reports
  • Managing internal and external project stakeholders, consultants and contractors
  • Managing and co-ordinating design development, reviews and approvals during planing and construction phases
  • Undertaking procurement management, including review of trade tender packages
  • Appointing and managing contractors while maintaining probity requirements
  • Handling contract administration including evaluation of progress claims, variation, extensions of time and completing documentation
  • Monitoring and managing completion activities including commissioning, handover, take-over and defects
  • Preparing project programmes and monitoring projects in line with those programmes developed by a contractor and approved by the client
  • Monitoring project costs in line with the approved budget
  • Monitoring and reporting on actual performance compared with the programme
  • Liaising with local authorities as required to ensure that the works are authorized as the project progresses
  • Ensuing monitoring and reporting of compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Ensuring that a system of quality assurance is in place to produce the highest quality of work in design, construction and administration
  • Seeking and capitalising upon opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships


  • Degree in construction, building, engineering or equivalent 
  • A minimum of twelve years' project management experience in Hong Kong in the field of design or construction management in roles on the consultant or contractor side
  • Skilled in monitoring multidisciplinary design for construction projects and progress reporting
  • Knowledge of government submission procedures
  • Preferably accredited to a relevant professional body, eg MHKIE, MICE, MCIOB, MHKICM, or MAPM
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • Understands Primavera P6 software or other planning software
  • Able use Aconex or similar software
