The Department is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on studies in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial mentoring.
The appointee will provide support in conducting, processing, and analysing qualitative and quantitative data from startup teams and other stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Hong Kong and the region. This will involve literature and internet searches, liaison with entrepreneurial ecosystem stakeholders, primary research (e.g. interviews, surveys), etc.
This is an opportunity for someone considering gaining first-hand experience of a research area of entrepreneurship that is increasing in popularity in recent years and has strong potential impact on theory and practice of starting a business.
The appointee is expected to perform the following duties: (a) assisting in literature reviews; (b) conducting and processing interviews and surveys; (c) tending to research project logistics and data organisation; and (d) taking up other duties as required for the project. Training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of 12 months commencing as soon as possible, preferably before June 2018. Re-appointment is subject to performance review, mutual agreement, and availability of funding.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
