Senior Software Engineer (Java/ Big Data), Vice President

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Lead the APAC Centre Of Excellence Java team and partner with your peer group in the US to design and implement the global FX Trade out delivery and other financial applications. Drive cloud adoption with firm’s cloud mandate. Define the value propositions and plan – migrate the right applications at the right time to maximize benefits
  • Have the opportunity to take on additional management responsibilities in Global General Ledger Organization. You will be a trusted technology advisor to Global GLT senior management in the following focus areas:
    • Create Roadmap to migrate current applications to cloud and create newly design cloud native, scalable applications and transfer cloud engineering expertise to developers
    • Work on design with teams and crisply and quickly articulate architecture for the stakeholders and support
  • Strong background in Architecture with exposure to Cloud & Mobile technologies at fortune-500s. A deep and hands-on understanding of hybrid cloud platform at scale
  • Advanced knowledge of Java / SCALA, exposure to big data platform (Apache Hadoop/HDFS/Kafka) and machine learning technologies
  • Strong exposure to one of the public clouds: AWS, Google or Azure via JS Frameworks (MEAN Stack, React, Meteor, etc)
  • Familiar with Agile methodology, Scaled Agile Framework and Scrum/Kanban delivery approaches
  • Experience in General Ledger System and related Financial Systems is an advantage
  • Must be meticulous, organized and take pride in your work
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams leader and stakeholders
