Senior Surveyor, Risk Control

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure that risks are inspected complying with the requirements of the Risk Control/Reinsurance/Underwriting Manual and capable to identify unsatisfactory risk conditions which might lead to potential loss
• Investigate losses and propose risk control recommendations for the identified unsatisfactory conditions to ensure the risk hazards could rest at acceptable level and prevent reoccurrence
• Propose risk control recommendations to control identified risks at acceptable level
• Produce survey reports in a professional & timely manner, and in accordance with the company’s manual/ guidelines.
• Review and update the risk survey guidelines/criteria/techniques in response to the changing market environment and development in the risk control field
• Ensure smooth daily operation of the team and provide efficient and effective services to business teams
• Assist supervisor in increasing the risk awareness amongst business teams, agents and brokers
• Perform regular monitoring to ensure full compliance with risk control rules and guidelines by all business teams, including implementation of risk improvement measures, following up outstanding surveys or resurveys, etc.
• Support in any ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Insurance/Engineering/Construction/related disciplines
• At least 5 years of work experience in general insurance or risk control field
• Work experience in site inspection or surveying would be a significant advantage
• Professional qualification in ACII/ANZIIF would be an advantage
• Good communication, interpersonal, customer serving and people management skills
• Strong in multi-tasking, decision-making and able to work under pressure
• Good team player and able to manage and motivate team members
• Good in written and spoken English plus report-writing skills
• Occasional travel to China / Macau for conducting risk surveys may be required
• Candidates with less experience would be considered as Surveyor
