The Materials Characterization and Preparation Facility (CWB) is inviting applications for two positions of Senior Technical Officer (STO)/Technical Officer (TO). Appointees will be involved in the general operation and maintenance of equipment in the facility. They will provide sample characterization services and training to internal and external users.
Applicants for STO position should have a bachelor’s degree in physics, materials or a related field of science and engineering with at least 4 years of post-qualification work experience; or a relevant master’s degree with at least 3 years of post-qualification work experience. A fair command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is essential. Ideal candidates are expected to have a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work independently. Experience in material characterization equipment and fabrication such as electron microscopy, optical characterization, surface analysis, thermal analysis, thin film sputtering and evaporation systems, or e-beam lithography is preferred. Applicants with a relevant bachelor’s degree and less than 3 years of post-qualification work experience would be considered as TO. Fresh graduates with relevant associate/bachelor’s degree are also welcome to apply. Training will be provided when necessary. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
