ROLE:

  • Service Control Manager is responsible to the Manager, Service Control for overseeing and managing the Integrated Airport Centre including Flight Operations, Crew Bus Management and managing flight disruption;
  • Role as the company’s primary strategic leader on shift for the planning, coordination, and critical decision making relative to daily flight schedule completion and on time performance goals and objectives;
  • This position is responsible for the formulation and tactical execution of the strategic operating plan, ensuring the highest levels of customer service.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Act as liaison role for operational planning and gate management inclusive of: aircraft parking, aircraft moves and customer disposition; coordinate and direct response to all levels of operational irregularities;
  • Oversee resolution of all operational critical issues involving any department, service provider and/or governmental agencies; escalate operational critical issues to senior management;
  • Ensuring that flights are safely and efficiently planned and monitored in accordance with established standards and regulations;
  • Monitor pre-arrival, arrival, ground-servicing, and departure activities; sets operational priorities, with an emphasis on decisions towards safety, security, reliability, voice of customers (internal/external) and business;
  • Flexible in working various shifts, and be on call and available to support irregular operations (i.e. flight delays/cancellations)
  • Manage IRROPs strategic planning and communication; facilitate operations critical communication to senior management including all functional department heads;
  • Partner with Duty Manager of HKIA at IAC to address system and local issues that have a significant impact to safety, security, employees, customer and baggage handling, aircraft scheduling, facility and field conditions;
  • Serve as Company Emergency Response Plan Coordinator while on duty, initiating the Emergency Response Plan when required.
  • Maintain close and effective business relationships with customer, and various control authorities such as Airport Management, Customs, and Immigration Department;
  • Establish strong leadership within all levels of employees through excellent communication skills and positive work environment.

CAPABILITIES & SKILLS:

  • Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent;
  • At least 8 years of extensive experience in the field of aviation or related industry in order to gain familiarly with the field’s practices procedures and concepts;
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a flight operation environment;
  • Strong understanding of aviation environment, procedures and processes;
  • Keen analytical, problem solving skills;
  • Ability to perform under pressure and go extra miles to complete tasks;
  • Effective communication skills (both spoken/written English, Chinese and Mandarin);
  • Ability to engineer managers and section heads to accomplish work plan; ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow; ability to train and develop subordinates’ skill; ability to foster teamwork among team members
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), and IT skills
  • Valid driving licenses #1 and #2 are preferable.
