The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong's external trade, seeks a high calibre candidate to join the Corporate Communications & Marketing Department.

Social Media Executive

  • Develop content plans for the organisation’s multiple social media accounts both locally and internationally; produce content including text and multimedia for social media
  • Monitor social media interactions, issues and sentiment; respond to enquiries and comments
  • Develop strategy for social media to integrate with the organisation’s overall corporate communications and marketing strategy
  • Social listening: consolidate discussions/comments about HKTDC on different social media platforms using different tools (such as Sprout Social, Google Analytics)
  • Handle social media communications during HK events (conferences, trade events) and design social media campaigns
  • Act as a “cultural translator" between Hong Kong staff and international staff to coordinate event planning and social media promotion
  • Assist in multimedia production: podcast editing and production, transcribing interviews, editing text content and on-site interview support
  • Editing and vetting of English materials for various departments



  • Degree holder, major in Marketing and Communications, with working knowledge of digital marketing and social media preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (Native-level English preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in social media marketing, content development and management (especially Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram) as well as social listening tools
  • Experience in writing marketing material and content planning for social media platforms that target broad, international audiences
  • Experience with international or regional organisation with an understanding of business and economic issues in Hong Kong and around the world
  • Basic photo, audio and video editing skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • A highly adaptable, dedicated and creative team player
  • Willing to work overtime and on weekends as needed

Remuneration and Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
