Social Media Strategist

SCAD Hong Kong

SCAD seeks a social media strategist to work within the university’s PR and marketing team to develop and manage social media that engages with current and prospective students, business leaders, recruiters, alumni and community members. This position will be focused primarily on brand management, campaign strategy and planning, reporting and analytics.

You have an understanding of the vocabulary, culture and technical qualities of social media platforms such as Sina Weibo, WeChat, Tencent QQ, Youku Tudou, Meipai, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest, and a desire to explore emerging technologies and trends. You also have the ability to invent creative solutions to demand generation and reputation management problems, create multimedia content that people love and share with their networks, and experience executing on-time, creative work across multiple media including photo-, video-, web-, social-, editorial- and event-based content.

The ideal candidate has background in web writing, marketing, editing and communications; strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines; the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining a positive team approach to working with partners; and prior global and regional experience, especially within China.

Additionally, you will assess analytic reports and advise changes to strategy and content; train managers of SCAD-affiliated accounts to maintain consistent voice, style and quality; demonstrate with data analytics that programs impact SCAD’s recruitment and general marketing, developing tactics to continuously test, learn and improve; and lead digital strategy development for the Asia-Pacific region.


  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in social media and digital marketing, ideally gained from both agency and in-house settings with a proven track record managing and delivering social media content in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Putonghua/Mandarin and English 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint and other graphics and presentation software
